Four electronic states central to understanding the properties of graphene are depicted in a quilt by Shirley Livingston of Williamsburg, Virginia. The quilt is based on the 2001 doctoral thesis of Christopher Wells under the supervision of Lawrence Snyder at the Chemistry Department of the University at Albany. The 84 inch square quilt was on display at the March APS meeting in Dallas.
