Moon Tracks

This isn’t a new flavor of ice cream. No, this photo taken from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter shows the marks left behind by Apollo 17. The parallel lines are tracks from the lunar rover and the single lines are foot paths left behind by the astronauts in 1972. Void of forces that erase the footprints of history, the moon’s surface has preserved them and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has captured it with astounding clarity.
