Devil’s Nano Postpile
Nanotubes mimic the Devil's Postpile National Monument in eastern California.

Devil's postpile is an unusual formation of basalt found near Mammoth Mountain in California. Researchers have constructed tiny nanotubes that look like the geological structure with iron, giving the tubes semiconducting properties.
